  • AEMO History

Aspiring Emergency Managers Online (AEMO) was founded by Brandi M. Hunter in June 2020 as an online group on LinkedIn. The group was conceived out the idea that those seeking to enter the Emergency Management profession, as well as experienced mid-career and late-career individuals could find better ways to support one another in their pursuit of education, training, and job search. Since its inception, the AEMO community has grown to over 4,500 members.

In late 2023, the organization pivoted to expand its reach based on feedback from its online members. The organization began working on a plan to re-launch AEMO as 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

By mid-2024, AEMO announced its official non-profit status. Today, AEMO continues to work toward its mission to empower aspiring emergency managers through education, mentorship, and career development, fostering a resilient and prepared community of professionals.
